Newman and Gray, Part of a near 200 year History
continuing our partnership with the excellent Interior Design Studio Bernard Interiors, Newman and Gray worked again with lead designer Julia Forster Smith to produce a bespoke parquet panelled floor for the main entrance and Bar-Bistro areas in this exceptional building. Scarcroft Lodge was built in 1830 by Quaker wool merchant Newman Cash. He came to Leeds from Coventry in 1815, and his business flourished as he expanded trade with America. By 1826 he was so successful that he was able to buy an extensive estate around Scarcroft, and he then built his grand country house.
